Today, the National Museum of the History of the Second World War in Kyiv, Ukraine, held a special exhibition titled 'MEMORY. INTERCHANGE' in collaboration with the German Embassy in Ukraine.
This exhibition consists of photographs, stories, and artworks of the families and ancestors of three artists, including @nicinger, who experienced and recorded their experiences in Ukraine during World War II.
The small records left by individuals in the vast history of that time have been passed down to descendants today, and have been reborn as a legacy that reflects on past events and preserves conversations and memories.
@nicinger has revealed the war diary and photos of her great-grandfather, a German soldier, who was stationed in Ukraine 80 years ago. Through this exhibition, she acknowledges and shares the painful history, and wants to remember Ukraine against Russia’s attempts to distort the truth
